Drawing from his own life story and documentary materials from the lives of his father and grandfather the director Michał Buszewicz creates his own partly fictitious biography – from birth to projected death. It is hard to say what is invented and what is real in the story, what is borrowed and what has been experienced.
Why did the hero of this autobiography, a recently deceased Michał Buszewicz created for the sake of the stage, keep following the same patterns of behaviour and making the same mistakes? An autobiography prepared “just in case” is a stage attempt to create “a rough draft” of one's life, to project fears and difficulties onto it. Sometimes in order to put them in a different perspective and be able to look at them objectively. Sometimes in order to let the future turn out differently.
The life story of the hero is disclosed through a tale of three men who come to clean out his flat after his death. The protagonist, manoeuvring between megalomania and self-flagellation, struggles with failures, creative difficulties, patterns of masculinity and his own passing.
