“A Year From Daily Life in Central and Eastern Europe” is a drama on multiple themes, investigating emotions in the society, and primarily the desires and aspirations that develop on the foundation of the system of values acknowledged at a given time, whose form also depends on the correct diagnose of legacy social and political situation. Inspired with Jędrzej Kitowicz’s “Description of Customs and Mores under the Reign of August III” and dramas based on it, authors of the production have taken an insight into the social and political landscape of post-communist states after 1989, and provocatively ask about the character of the national and supranational community in altered historical conditions. Can we really speak a community of language, customs, values and aspirations specific for our times, for example, in the face of the conflicts that have recently escalated? What actually brings us together, and what divides us? What is the reason for the tensions, and what fruit can they bear in the future?
