INFERNO: Polish Competition
POLISH COMPETITION
INFERNO, or the Polish Competition, is comprised of sixteen carefully selected performances that had their premieres in season 2016/2017. It’s a core section of the festival, as its main purpose is to showcase the diverse landscape of Polish theater life and the latest trends and areas of artistic exploration and experimentation undertaken by prominent and acclaimed directors. Winners will be chosen by the international jury, and The Divine Comedian, the main prize in the sum of 50,000 PLN established by the President of the City of Krakow Jacek Majchrowski, will be awarded to the theatre that produced the winning show. Krakow Theatre Awards (for best director, female and male roles, scenography, music and visual supervision) are sponsored by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
