Children on the stage

18 November 2013

There are still tickets available for some festival projects. We’re honored to present the newest project by Iga Gańczarczyk. The show produced by Łaźnia Nowa Theatre is inspired by Janusz Korczak’s novel titled King Maciuś the First, where a protagonist initiates founding of a government comprised only of children that is supposed to carry out different social reforms. The show also references one of the episodes taken from Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels – the one where Gulliver finds himself in the land of Lilliputs and comes to a conclusion that the politics is ruled mostly by different absurdities. A group of kids aged 9-12 takes part and stars in the performance. Except for theatrical and movement rehearsals, the young actors participated in educational equality and tolerance workshops that influenced the dynamics of the show greatly.
