Presentations of the Polish Contest INFERNO shows started on Monday and twelve performances compete with one another since the international Jury announces winners during the Awards ceremony that takes place on Saturday night at Bunkier Sztuki. It is worth reminding that the shows compete for the Krakow Theatre Awards and the statuette, designed by Jacek Żakowski, is a variation on the figure of the Divine Comedian. Winning also means getting gratified with a certain sum of money. For the Best Show President of the City of Krakow founded a prize of 50, 000 PLN. On top of that the Jury gives away awards in the following categories, all of them are founded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in the sum of 10, 000 PLN: Best Director, Female Lead, Male Lead, Set Design, Visual Work and Original Score. Awards for the Best Supporting Actress and Actor in the sum of 5, 000 PLN are also founded by the Minister of Culture. We are looking forward to getting to know all the winners, in the meantime, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for the twelve INFERNO shows!
