Attractions of the day 6

09 December 2015

We are now past the divine halfway point! Traditionally, we start at noon and with a meeting with artists. At Bunkier Sztuki we are meeting Grzegorz Jarzyna, the director of "Martyrs" (showing at 5:30 p.m.), one of the INFERNO contest performances.

Another production in the Polish contest is "Howl" directed by Maciej Podstawny. At 3:00 p.m. we are entering the flamboyant and complex world of the Beat Generation, who were the first to describe hipsters. The viewers who did not manage to get their tickets for this performance have an interesting alternative, starting at the same hour - "The Wedding" directed by Monika Strzępka. Some of you may wonder why this production is presented in the PARADISO (Young Artists) section, but please remember that this is a diploma performance, prepared by students of the Wrocław branch of the Ludwik Solski State Drama School. It is Strzępka's first confrontation with this classical play since her own student times. We will have the opportunity to stay longer with her today, since the day ends with her "Undivine Comedy. 'M TELLING GOD!". This performance by Monika Strzępka and Paweł Demirski won the National Contest for the Staging of a Contemporary Polish Play. The showing begins at 8:15 p.m., and it will be followed by a meeting with the artists. Almost simultanously the radio premiere of the show will begin, aired by Radio Kraków at 9:05 p.m.
